Costumes! Pumpkins! Fall Festivals!

Happy Halloween! This year Justin chose to be a pilot, which was not surprising given his love of airplanes. But if you ask him if he'll be a pilot when he grows up, he'll remind you that, no, he is going to be a rock star. Brooke went as a sassy witch, and, true to her costume, maintained a sassy, non-smiling expression in every picture. I have to admire her commitment. No matter what I did she wouldn't smile for a single one.

Our handsome pilot, ready to take to the skies.

Here he is in the preschool Halloween parade!

A little wave as he walks by.

Oh my, this girl has got spunk. Still not smiling for any pictures--and this was days later. But absolutely adorable.

Brooke with her cousin and best friend in the world (next to Justin of course).

Last night we carved pumpkins with Erin's family and feasted on her homemade Halloween treats.

The night before that we hit the Halloween party at church, where Justin remembered that the cake walk is the greatest game ever.

Extra credit if you can guess what TV characters Mark and I went as. We thought we were pretty clever when we came up with it, but we ended up just having to explain it all night long, and I'm certain that some people at church now think Mark is actually named Clive.

Last weekend we picked out our pumpkin at the Leesburg Animal Farm. Brooke simply loves animals. She is not afraid of them at all, and nothing makes her happier.

Her first pony ride! We'll have to work on keeping her heels down if she's going to be a cowgirl.

Justin was a big fan of the haunted school bus.

The whole family loved the giant hay slides, but we don't have the photographic evidence of that. So here's a cute one of Mark helping them on the little playground slide.

With the early snow this past weekend, I feel like we've had to cram all our fall festivities into this past week, but it's been fun! Now I'm ready to settle in with some of the kids' candy haul and watch Chiefs football with Mark. Hooray for fall!

Hopefully you had no run ins with escalators and your trench coat stayed on all night. Oh my... this is a family blog I suppose. :) Love your little trick or treaters!

You rocked as Claire and Phil!! I love it! What a great idea! Too bad I'm not blonde, or I would try to get Patrick to help me copy you next year. Glad to see you all enjoying Halloween. How is your back doing?
